A study in contrasts

November 8, 2007 § 7 Comments

A late night and a hangover to match.  I nurse a second cup of coffee, which prods the appropriate receptors but ultimately fails to arouse.  It will not be a productive day.

Instead, I read the papers, which report a litany of bad news: falling stocks, lost equity, homeless veterans, the energy crisis.  As juxtaposition, a story about a $25,000 bowl of ice cream, garnished with edible gold.

If I wasn’t hungover, I would scream.
