818 arrests, 400 of which occurred while McCain was giving his acceptance speech.  That’s 229 more than at the 1968 DNC in Chicago, but 988 fewer than at the 2004 RNC in New York.  The most chilling are the terrorism charges against 8 members of the RNC Welcoming Committee, which are part of a larger government strategy to use the Patriot Act to repress political dissent.  Oh, and several dozen of those arrested were journalists.

So, now you know.

    What happened?

Whatever protests take place today seem off limits to national news coverage.

I just want to know what the heck was going on.

    Who protested what, why?

And what is this stuff about arresting the press?

Heck, that sounds like China, not the USA.

so when will the average apathetic American (alliteration intended) mean to sacrifice his/her livelihood and take to the streets?

The last rally point on earth to call Americans to the streets are “anarchist”.

    Anarchist? Forget it.

    Lawlessness, treason, unconstitutional corruption, exists.

But forget calling on Americans to follow anarchists.
